Wright-Pierce CFO John Nelson Appointed Treasurer of American Council of Engineering Companies Executive Committee

John R. Nelson, Chief Financial Officer of Wright-Pierce, was appointed Vice Chair and Treasurer of the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) Executive Committee for the 2016-2018 term at its  Annual Convention and Legislative Summit recently held in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Nelson also served as Chair of ACEC’s Tax and Regulatory Affairs Committee from 2014-2016, and is active on the Finance and IT Forums, the CFO Council, and the Environment and Energy Committee. John Nelson also served as President of ACEC/Maine from 2007-2008.

Mr. Nelson has been with Wright-Pierce since 1995; he has been Chief Financial Officer since 2002. John holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.

ACEC is the voice of America’s engineering industry and serves as an advocacy and education organization for the engineering profession. ACEC is a federation of 51 state and regional councils (member organizations) whose members include over 5,000 firms representing more than 500,000 employees from across the country. ACEC firms employ engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists and other specialists, responsible for more than $200 billion of private and public works annually.

In his role as Vice Chair and Treasurer, Mr. Nelson will be a liaison between seven state member organizations and the national organization and provide input and assistance to ACEC staff as an Executive Committee member.
